KNUST YouthMappers is a chapter of the global YouthMappers network located in the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana.
We strive to exchange and collaborate with other YouthMappers chapters and youth groups worldwide while offering ourselves as a resource and service to KNUST student organisations to add value through mapping. We aim to build a community which is diverse, passionate, and growing every day.
The purpose of KNUST YouthMappers is to grant students the opportunity to improve skills in the field of mapping and create open geographic data and analyses that address locally defined development challenges as well as global ones.
Our vision is to cultivate a generation of young people to become leaders in creating resilient communities, and empowering them to define their world by mapping it.
The purpose of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology YouthMappers is to use open source data and GIS technologies to map potential disaster areas, provide resources for emergency management, connect its members with open source and GIS organisations, and serve any upcoming needs of our project partners and the open source mapping community.
The ultimate measure of a sheep is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.

Wow what a response from the sheep community. Black sheep, white sheep, fluffy sheep, we’re all in this together. I believe we can inspire all animals to stand up for what’s right and receive recognition for the hard work we do every day.
